The new route is part of the strategy to promote tourism and the Italy brand around the world, to boost a market known for its enormous potential in terms of growing travelers, and spending capacity. The availability of an air carrier capable of boosting the tourist offer and transport to Italy allows ENIT to implement incoming tourism and look towards new frontiers.
The frequency of the new air connection will be every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, from Rome Fiumicino to New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 2.10pm with arrival expected the following day at 2.00 am local time. The return flight from New Delhi every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday at 3.50 pm with arrival in Rome Fiumicino at 8.10am.
Emiliana Limosani, chief commercial officer ITA, Pierluigi Di Palma, ENAC president, Ivan Bassato and Federico Scriboni, respectively chief aviation officer and head of aviation business development of Aeroporti di Roma, Ivana Jelinic were present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the flight to India, new ENIT president, and Neena Malhotra, Indian ambassador to Italy.
ENIT CEO Ivana Jelinic met with important stakeholders in India, as well as exponents from Bollywood, the major Indian film industry, to lay the foundations for future productions dedicated to Made in Italy and with Italy as the protagonist.
Jelinic also showed her appreciation for the developing strategies of the Italian Plan focusing to enhance the Italian brand in the eyes of the world. The new ITA connection marks a recovery that is a breath of fresh air for the sector and opening to new frontiers.

The focus is on international competitiveness challenges that reposition Italy in a market with strong potential. Today is a significant opportunity to increase tourism between the two countries,” said Ms. Jelnic.

Moreover, thanks to the flight from New Delhi to Rome, our Indian customers will be able to visit not only Italy but all of Europe with convenient connections from our Fiumicino hub,” concluded the CEO.
